On June 9, 2022, Britney Spears wed Asghari at her Thousand Oaks, California, home in front of Selena Gomez, Drew Barrymore, Paris Hilton, and Madonna. This marriage was seen as an important turning point in her newly reclaimed life after the dissolution of the court conservatorship that had over 13 years of control over her life just six months earlier.

When actor and model Asghari participated in the pop star’s music video for “Slumber Party” in 2016, they subsequently became romantically involved.

Britney Spears stated that one of the reasons she wanted the restrictive conservatorship to terminate was because she wanted to wed Asghari.  In September 2021, when it became evident that she would be released from the conservatorship, which was terminated that November, the two made their engagement public. In May 2022, just a month before they were wed, Spears said she and Asghari lost a child.

The number of reports about the couple’s issues has grown recently. According to Us Weekly, the couple’s relationship had “ups and downs” earlier this summer, with Asghari being seen without his wedding band in March. People stated at the time that Asghari took off his ring because he was filming for an unidentified movie role.

According to TMZ, Mr. Asghari alleged “irreconcilable differences” and demanded that the celebrity pay his legal bills as well as spousal maintenance. According to the document published by the outlet, “Sam has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property, assets, and obligations of each party.”

The statement also stated that “there are various community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to Sam at this time.”

Britney Spears has not yet responded to the allegations that she and her husband of 14 months divorced. The divorce follows “a nuclear argument that involved allegations of cheating,” according to TMZ reports. According to people familiar with the situation, Sam Asghari approached Britney Spears about rumors that she had been unfaithful to him a week ago. Sam Asghari apparently believed the rumor, and the claim sparked a significant brawl even though the source emphasized that it was uncertain whether the rumor had any truth to it. Sam Asghari has reportedly moved out of the house. “It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce,” TMZ noted.

The singer, 41, is getting married for the third time, while Asghari, 29, is getting married for the first time. In 2004, she wed her childhood friend Jason Alexander for less than three days before he attempted to crash her wedding to Asghari and was later found guilty of misdemeanor trespassing and violence.

In 2004, Britney Spears wed dancer Kevin Federline. During their three-year marriage, Spears would experience escalating mental health issues and severe media scrutiny. Federline is the father of her two teenage sons and has custody of the boys.

In 2008, She would be placed in the conservatorship run by her father. She initially did well in the arrangement, continuing to put out music, create videos, and give live performances, including a significant concert residency in Las Vegas. However, as she made fewer public appearances, supporters started to call for the court to #FreeBritney, which would eventually grow into a significant movement.

Britney Spears has released music since the conservatorship ended, including a 2022 duet with Elton John, but she hasn’t given a live performance in years and hasn’t said when she will.

Her memoir, “The Woman in Me,” is slated for publication in October.
